On the 6th, 7th & 8th of January, the SAS members from Hastings, met with others from across the county for a weekend called Ketchup at Parkwood camp site near Brighton.
The basic format for the weekend was, Friday evening was just a chill out and catch up,
Saturday being the main day. The morning was helping Parkwood Service Crew with maintenance around the site digging / cleaning ditch’s, clearing path’s etc., then a walk around the site as many of us were new to Parkwood. The afternoon started with fun craft work, then a formal meeting, we discussed overview of the transformation plan as scouting structure is changing, the launch date is now delayed until January 2024. Tune-up 2023 which will be held at Parkwood, we talked about logistics and how we could zone areas etc. Later there was a Gala Dinner, we great meal and we were joined county commissioner and by young leaders / explorers who were at the late queen’s funeral, they were presented with badges / certificates and Father Martin being awarded with the Award for Merit.
Sunday morning a walk up to Devils Dyke.
A great time was had by all.
