The Group is based at Guestwell Hall in Church Lane, Guestling and provides scouting for boys from the villages of Pett, Fairlight, Guestling, Icklesham and Winchelsea as well as the eastern outskirts of Hastings. The Group caters for boys only but shares its H.Q. with the 1st Guestling and Pett Guides, Brownies and Rainbows. We have Beaver, Cub and Scout sections all providing a varied and active programme with the emphasis on adventurous outdoor activities. Guestwell Hall (derived from Guestling and
Gilwell - the spiritual home of the Scout movement) is owned by the Scout
Association and managed on behalf of the Scouts and Guides by a committee
of willing (!) volunteers. The hall, which stands in its own grounds
adjacent to the extensive Guestling Woods, has been modernised over recent
years and provides accommodation for our own activities as well as being
available for hire by other scout groups and similar organisations. The
grounds are suitable for camping and the hall provides the 'mod
cons'. | ||||||||||||||
